Biographical Info:

Blake Masters grew up in Tucson, Arizona, where he met his wife Catherine when they were in middle school. They have four boys, ranging from 9 years old to newborn.

Blake attended Stanford University and Stanford Law School and went on to run Thiel Capital, a multi-billion dollar firm that invests in new technology companies, and the Thiel Foundation, a nonprofit foundation that promotes science and innovation. The Foundation’s Thiel Fellowship Program has paid 225 young people to drop out of college and instead create new companies, which are together now worth more than $45 billion.

In 2014, Blake co-authored the #1 New York Times bestseller Zero to One, which has sold more than four million copies.

Blake was Arizona’s 2022 Republican nominee for the United States Senate; he fought hard not just against the $100M national Democrat Machine, but also against the Republican establishment helmed by Mitch McConnell, who decided Blake was too conservative and too independent-minded to be in the Senate. Now Blake is thrilled for the opportunity to represent Arizona’s 8th District in Congress.

Statement:

I’m running for office because we are losing our country, and I believe I can help stop and reverse the decline.

The Democrats in power have failed us. Joe Biden (and the people who are really running his administration) have delivered chaos at our Border, skyrocketing inflation, failing schools, and widespread wokeness. And they’re doing it on purpose!

Why? Because the Left believes that our country is fundamentally evil. They’re ashamed of it. That’s why they denounce it and loot it. They want America to be unrecognizable. They want to destroy who we are.

But there’s good news: We The People are waking up. We are sick of the chaos, the crime, the weaponization of justice – just look at what they’re doing to President Trump. It’s beyond crazy. We need leaders who support President Trump. We need leaders who fight like the futures of our nation, our state, and our families depend on it. Because it does.

We can’t have more go-along-to-get-along members of Congress, more people who have spent their lives in government. We need people from outside the bureaucracy, competent peoople who will stand up to the establishment.

I’ve taken on Mitch McConnell. I’ve taken on Chuck Schumer and the National Democrat machine. And I’m still standing, ready to fight Big Government, Big Tech, and Big Business. I’m ready to fight for our cultural values. I’m ready to fight for We the People. America is for Americans, and it’s time we take it back.

Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Securing the border by preventing all illegal crossings. S* The correct amount of illegal immigration is ZERO. We need to enforce our immigration laws, deport the millions of illegal aliens who are here now, and secure -- even MILITARIZE -- our border.
2. Amending the Arizona State Constitution to grant a fundamental right to every individual to an abortion. O* Since abortion involves the willful taking of innocent human life, there is no and can be no "fundamental right" to an abortion.
3. Appointing federal judges who will interpret the U.S. Constitution according to the framers’ original intent or text, rather than by evolving standards. S* I believe in strict interpretation of the Constitution. The words mean what they say. Sticking to the plain meaning of the text, as informed by the framers' intent, is the only proper method of Constitutional interpretation.
4. Adding "sexual orientation," "gender identity," and "gender expression" to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination law. O* This kind of "wokeness" is just a weapon to discriminate *against* everyday, ordinary Americans who just want to be left alone to live, work, and worship with their families in peace.
5. Allowing all parents to use tax credits and taxpayer funded empowerment scholarship accounts to enable their children to attend any private school, homeschool, or online academy of their choice. S* I believe in school choice and will always fight for maximum school choice, period, full stop. Parents should be in charge of kids' education. Not government bureaucrats!
6. Amending the U.S. Constitution to require Congress to balance the federal budget every year. S* A balanced budget Amendment is a very good idea. I also believe in Term Limits, for both government bureaucrats and elected officials.
7. Using taxpayer funds to support any organization that performs, promotes, or provides referrals for abortion. O* NO taxpayer funds should EVER be used for anything even remotely pro-abortion.
8. Interpreting the 2nd Amendment as protecting an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. S* The 2nd Amendment is the Amendment that protects all of our other rights, by enabling us to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government. I will be the most pro-2nd Amendment Congressman in the country.
9. Allowing individuals and businesses to not provide services or promote ideas that violate their moral or religious beliefs. S* The left-wing Progressive's "anti-discrimination" regime is, at this point, just a weaponization of government against Christian Conservatives. I won't stand for that. Religious liberty is paramount and non-negotiable.
10. Federalizing election law by removing state authority over elections. O* The Democrats' dream is to federalize elections. We can't let that happen. The Constitution is clear on this: states run their own elections.
11. Eliminating the filibuster rule requiring 60 votes in the U.S. Senate to move most legislation. O* If we got rid of the filibuster, and the Democrats had control, they would (1) pack the Supreme Court, (2) add Puerto Rico as a state, and (3) federalize elections. No thank you!
12. Regulating or banning social media platforms that are owned or controlled by certain foreign governments. S* The Chinese Communist Party should not have unfettered access to manipulate the lives and brains of American teenagers. We can prevent that, while also protecting free speech for all Americans.
