Heather Rooks is a devoted wife, mother, and lifelong resident of Peoria, Arizona. A proud graduate of Sunrise Mountain High School, Heather grew up in the Peoria Unified School District and understands firsthand the importance of a strong driven community. Before starting her family, Heather spent three years studying at Glendale Community College, preparing for her future. In 2010, she married her husband, Aaron Rooks, and together they have been blessed to raise four wonderful children over their 15 years of marriage. In 2020, Heather met fellow parent advocate Devon Updegraff-Day, and together they began actively supporting childrens education and parental rights through West Valley Parents Uniting, alongside many other dedicated parents. That same year, Heather started attending Peoria Unified School District board meetings to learn more about what was happening in local classrooms and how families could make a difference. She worked with previous Peoria School Board member and LD28 House Representative Beverly Pingerelli. Her commitment and willingness to speak up for families, staff and the community quickly earned her the nickname The Peoria Mom. Through this journey, she connected with countless parents who shared her determination to protect their childrens education and preserve the right of families to make choices that reflect their values. Now serving her fourth year as an elected member of the Peoria Unified School District Governing Board as President, Heather Rooks proudly stands for Parental Rights, Accountability, Pro-American Curriculum, Academic Excellence and Fiscal Responsibility. Now she is embarking on being a voice for her community for re-election to Peoria School Board and a conservative candidate for the LD28 House of Representatives. Heather continues to be a steadfast advocate for the families and citizens in the Peoria community standing up for freedom, responsible leadership, and the conservative values that make Arizona great.
Statement:
I am running for the Arizona House of Representatives in Legislative District 28 because I believe in protecting the values that make Arizona strong and in advancing the America First principles championed by President Donald J. Trump. As a conservative wife and mother of four, my heart is with the whole community, including families who work hard, raise children and retirees who have spent their lives building this incredible state. I will stand strong in support of law enforcement and public safety, in defense of our Constitution, and in supporting the role of parents to decide their childs educational choices. I am committed to fiscal responsibility, lowering taxes, and holding government accountable, while also supporting families of children with disabilities through Arizonas DDD program so they receive care, services, and dignity.I am ready to serve with courage, compassion, and conviction for our children and our shared future.
