Statement:

I’m George Khalaf and I’m proud to be running to represent LD3 in the Arizona House. We need leaders to cast and deliver a conservative vision for our state, and that’s why I stepped up. First and foremost, I’m a Christian, husband to Briana, father to three sons and an America-First conservative. My parents immigrated legally to the US from Lebanon to give their children a chance to experience freedom and the American dream. I wake up every day grateful to live in the greatest country in the world. I’ll focus on growing a pro-family economy through low taxes, more efficient government, and pro-small business policies. I’ll support strong families by defending parents’ rights, opposing woke indoctrination and making education work for parents and students. Safe communities start with a secure border. I’ll back our men and women in law enforcement and vote for policies that keep criminals off our streets. I’ll defend our Constitutional Freedoms of life, free speech, religious freedom and the 2nd Amendment. And I’ll fight for free and fair elections with full transparency. As your representative, I’ll answer to the people and my principles–not special interests. Together, we’ll make Arizona’s next 10 years free and prosperous.

Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Enacting state-level restrictions on firearm ownership beyond current Arizona law. O* The US and Arizona Constitutions are clear! Arizona says "the right of the individual citizen to bear arms...shall not be impaired." An even stronger protection than the 2nd amendment. I will always fight against attempts to restrict firearm ownership in AZ!
2. Adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes in Arizona nondiscrimination statutes. O* I have fought against this my entire career, including fighting against cities who have attempted to enact these laws. Individuals should never be forced to express messages that go against their deeply held religious beliefs.
3. Expanding state-level enforcement efforts to deter illegal border crossings. S* Securing our border is a top priority and while the federal government has to lead (thank you President Trump!), Arizona has a role to play in deterring illegal border crossings.
4. Prohibiting taxpayer funds from directly or indirectly funding abortion services, except where required by federal law. S* I oppose any use of taxpayer funds from being used for abortion services or for organizations that provide abortion services.
5. Maintaining the universal Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program without limiting eligibility. S* Our AZ ESA program provides maximum flexibility for parents and rapid accountability for the taxpayer. Nearly 103,000 students use this great program and I will lead on ensuring it is protected and grows!
6. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide for individuals seeking end-of-life assistance, regardless of terminal illness. O
7. Allowing licensed counselors to provide therapy to minors seeking to reduce or manage same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria, with parental consent. S
8. Increasing criminal penalties for the sale and distribution of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. S
9. Requiring stronger age verification and parental consent protections for minors accessing social media platforms and downloading mobile applications. S
10. Increasing criminal penalties for individuals who purchase sex. S
11. Requiring election procedures that ensure voter identification verification and ballot security. S* Voter ID laws are universally supported and are a key way we can secure our elections!
12. Enacting a legislative referral that would ask voters to repeal Arizona Proposition 139, the constitutional right to abortion. S* I opposed Prop 139's initial passing and would lead to ensure we get it repealed!
13. Expanding current marijuana laws to increase accessibility to recreational marijuana for adults. O
