Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Expanding federal enforcement efforts to prevent illegal border crossings. S* While Biden and the Democrats begged for additional legislation and funds to secure our border, President Trump successfully did so with just the resources at his disposal within months of assuming office. However, we must go further, we need to codify Trump’s action on the border and ensure future Presidents cannot undo the great work Republicans have done to keep our country safe.
2. Appointing federal judges who interpret the U.S. Constitution according to its text and original intent. S* Republicans should only be in the business of appointing judges who will interpret the text of the Constitution as it was meant to be interpreted and enforced. Anything less would be an affront to conservatism.
3. Adding sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression as protected classes in federal nondiscrimination statutes. O
4. Providing federal tax credits or scholarships that allow parents to choose private schools, homeschool, or online programs for their children. S* Providing competition to public schools to allow them to improve is essential towards putting America’s children first. Since the establishment of DOE America’s education rankings has plummeted, we need to return to a doctrine that allows for States’ and localities to retake control of their education policy.
5. Prohibiting federal funds from directly or indirectly supporting organizations that perform, promote, or provide referrals for abortion. S
6. Prohibiting the federal government from discriminating against organizations based on sincerely held religious beliefs. S* Our nation was founded on firm Christian values, the Federal Government has no business interfering or harming those groups because of their firm held beliefs.
7. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide for individuals seeking end-of-life assistance, regardless of terminal illness. O
8. Federalizing election law by removing state authority over elections. O* As the Constitution prescribes, the Federal Government has oversight powers over federal elections. However States’ should still have control over how their elections are run for the state races.
9. Eliminating the filibuster rule that requires 60 votes in the U.S. Senate to move most legislation. S* Democrats are not and have not committed to codifying the filibuster, after their years of constant threats and rhetoric towards eliminating it to override Republicans while in the majority. I don’t believe we can risk another potential Democrat President with a willing party that will eliminate the filibuster, and create institutional barriers to keep Republicans out of power like crafting additional states and stacking the nation's highest court with Anti-American ideologues.
10. Increasing federal penalties for the sale and distribution of illicit drugs, sex buyers, and individuals convicted of human trafficking. S* Increasing the penalties is a good first step, but we also need to be focused on taking down the ringleaders of the cartels flooding our nation with drugs and funding human trafficking operations.
11. Requiring federal regulations that ensure parental consent and stronger age verification for minors accessing apps, social media platforms, and online content. S* Arizona has proved that age verification laws can work, while we definitely need to keep an eye out for government overreach, protecting our children from harmful content online is something that should be a priority.
12. Allowing the federal government to regulate artificial intelligence to protect privacy, prevent bias, and safeguard public safety. O* Regulation of Artificial Intelligence should be delegated on a case by case basis to Congress, not delegated to the Federal Government as so many other responsibilities have been. Congress should play a role in AI regulation if any is necessary.
