Juan Manuel Guerrero – Biography
Juan Manuel Guerrero’s life is a testament to sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering service to others. As the eldest of seven children, he learned responsibility early. At just 13 years old, when his father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Juan left school to help support his family and care for his younger siblings. Those difficult years shaped his lifelong commitment to hard work, family, and perseverance.
Determined to build a better future, Juan returned to his education and earned his GED at 17. He went on to graduate from Arizona Western College and the University of Arizona, proving that dedication and grit can overcome even the toughest beginnings.
Driven by a deep sense of duty, Juan answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy as a combat corpsman. In one of the military’s most demanding roles, he provided lifesaving medical care to Marines on the battlefield—an experience that strengthened his dedication to protecting others.
After completing his military service, Juan continued serving the public through work in law enforcement and the court system, gaining firsthand insight into public safety, justice, and the challenges facing local communities. He helped create the South County Anti-Drug Coalition and has been a strong advocate against domestic violence, working to protect vulnerable families and strengthen community support systems.
Juan’s commitment to service extends far beyond his professional roles. He has coached youth soccer, helping young people develop discipline, teamwork, and confidence. As an active Rotarian and a member of the Board of Directors for the Regional Center for Border Health, he works to expand healthcare access and improve quality of life in border communities.
Raised in an immigrant family and shaped by years of hard work—including time spent laboring in the fields—Juan understands the struggles, hopes, and determination of working families. Today, as a grandfather, veteran, and community leader, he is running to represent the people of Arizona Legislative District 23. Juan Manuel Guerrero is committed to fighting for opportunity, public safety, and a stronger future for all Arizona families.

Statement:

I’m running for LD23 because service has always defined my life. From combat medicine to law enforcement and the Justice system, I’ve spent my career protecting others and standing up for my community.
But I’ve also seen were the system falls short, Families struggling to make ends meet, access care, neighborhoods facing crime and instability, and to many people feeling unheard. I’ve carried those realities with me, and I know we can do better.
I’m running to bring honest leadership, real world experience, and a commitment to fairness, safety, and opportunity for every family in LD23. This campaign isn’t about politics, it’s about people, and delivering the results they deserve.
