Michael Way is a member of the Arizona House of Representatives, serving Legislative District 15. He is a husband, father of four, and business executive who believes in limited government and strong families. Michael holds a degree in Construction Management from Arizona State University, and MBA and Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming, and has recently completed his graduate studies in Educational Assessment at the University of Oxford. He has spend his career in the private sector and is committed to protecting constitutional rights, and ensuring Arizona remains a place of opportunity and freedom for future generations.
Statement:
I ran for office to bring a real-world perspective to the Legislature and to stand up for Arizona families. As a husband, father, and business owner, I understand the challenges facing our communities and the importance of keeping government accountable.
At the Capitol, I have focused on protecting parental rights, expanding school choice, securing our elections, and defending the constitutional freedoms that make Arizona strong. I believe parents, not bureaucrats, should be in charge of their children’s education, and that our government must live within its means, just like Arizona families do.
Arizona is one of the best places in the country to live, work, and raise a family. But maintaining that requires strong leadership and a commitment to conservative principles. I will continue to fight for lower taxes, responsible spending, public safety, and policies that promote economic growth and opportunity.
I am grateful for the trust voters have placed in me and will continue working every day to represent Legislative District 15 with integrity and purpose.

|---|---|---|
| 1. Enacting state-level restrictions on firearm ownership beyond current Arizona law. | O* | I will defend our constitutional right to bear arms and oppose new restrictions on citizens who are not the problem. |
| 2. Adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes in Arizona nondiscrimination statutes. | O* | Government should not force Arizona families, churches, schools, and businesses to submit to radical gender ideology or punish people for living their faith. |
| 3. Expanding state-level enforcement efforts to deter illegal border crossings. | S* | Arizona is under siege from cartels, trafficking, and illegal crossings. When Washington fails, our state must enforce the law and defend our border. |
| 4. Prohibiting taxpayer funds from directly or indirectly funding abortion services, except where required by federal law. | S* | Not one penny of taxpayer money should fund abortion. Arizona should protect innocent life and respect the conscience rights of pro-life citizens. |
| 5. Maintaining the universal Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program without limiting eligibility. | S* | Every parent deserves the freedom to choose the best education for their child. Universal ESAs put students first, not the education bureaucracy. |
| 6. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide for individuals seeking end-of-life assistance, regardless of terminal illness. | O* | Physician-assisted suicide is not compassion. We should defend the dignity of every life and provide real care, not state-sanctioned death. |
| 7. Allowing licensed counselors to provide therapy to minors seeking to reduce or manage same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria, with parental consent. | S* | Parents, not the government, must direct a childs care. Counselors should be free to help minors reject harmful ideologies and embrace biological reality. |
| 8. Increasing criminal penalties for the sale and distribution of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. | S | |
| 9. Requiring stronger age verification and parental consent protections for minors accessing social media platforms and downloading mobile applications. | S* | I support, but not at the expense of Americans privacy or creating new government surveillance systems. |
| 10. Increasing criminal penalties for individuals who purchase sex. | S* | Buyers fuel trafficking and sexual exploitation. Arizona should hit traffickers harder, choke off demand, and protect vulnerable women and children. |
| 11. Requiring election procedures that ensure voter identification verification and ballot security. | S | |
| 12. Enacting a legislative referral that would ask voters to repeal Arizona Proposition 139, the constitutional right to abortion. | S* | I support letting voters restore protections for unborn children and stop abortion profiteers. |
| 13. Expanding current marijuana laws to increase accessibility to recreational marijuana for adults. | O |
