Biographical Info:

I was born and raised here in Phoenix, Arizona, and have always loved calling the Valley my home. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Accounting, I was commissioned as a Naval Officer, conducting counter-piracy operations on Pacific and Middle East deployments aboard USS Boxer (LHD-4), as well as being the Auxiliaries Officer and Interim Chief Engineer aboard USS Somerset (LPD-25), one of the three ships named in honor of the victims of the September 11 Attacks.

Following my military service, I commenced my career as an accountant, starting as a bookkeeper for a family friend’s business, and advancing my way through a variety of corporate finance roles. Recently I have been actively consulting with companies in a CFO / VP of Finance / Controller capacity, managing accounting and finance departments. Most importantly, I am a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Arizona.

Outside of professional activities, I am an active member of Executive Council 70, a men’s charity, raising over $3.9 million for Arizona children’s charities. I have served on the Board of Governors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Scottsdale, the Neighborhood Advisory Commission for the City of Scottsdale, and as a Swim Coach for the Young Athletes Special Olympics.

Additionally, my grandfather-in-law Harry Rosenzweig served as a Phoenix City Councilman, the Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party from 1965 – 1976, and finance and campaign chairman of the Barry Goldwater for President Committee and also handled Goldwater’s finances for his senatorial campaigns.

Statement:

As a CPA, my experience uniquely qualifies me to serve the interests of the residents of our county. My platform emphasizes fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability; the public can have confidence in a County Treasurer who has relevant and appropriate licensure.

Financial Expertise: I have a strong background in finance, accounting, and economics. My experience in managing budgets, overseeing investments, and financial planning is essential for the responsible management of county funds.

Transparency and Accountability: I am committed to transparency in financial operations. I will advocate for open communication and accountability in handling public funds. It is crucial for me to maintain the trust of the community.

Efficient Resource Management: A treasurer responsible for managing public funds must prioritize efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations. I know how to optimize resources to benefit the county and its residents.

Fiscal Responsibility: I will implement responsible spending and saving practices, minimizing waste, and implementing cost-effective measures.

Innovation and Modernization: In an increasingly digital world, we must advocate for the modernization of financial systems and embrace new technology for more efficient financial management. We are currently falling behind and I will attack this issue head on.

I want my son to grow up in the same amazing community I did. We all need to do our part to ensure the next generation has more opportunity, and that starts with financial investing and creating an economy in Maricopa County that serves its residents.
