Biographical Info:

As a small business owner of more than 27 years who understands regulation restrictions that saddle small businesses. I believe in Economic Prosperity for Arizona with limited government intrusions. I’m a proud wife of a military veteran and I support our second amendment rights. I am a mother of 5 children and was a single mom when they were young experiencing frustration in the quality of public education. This drove me to create a successful charter school where I became a founding board member. A Back-to-Basics Traditional Education that promotes Patriotism with over 800 student enrollments. I served on the Board of Directors for 5 years, believing in school choice, no indoctrination or transgender education in our schools. As a grandmother of 8, I will continue to fight for strengthening families not undermining them. I served on the Board of Directors as President of my church and will fight for our religious freedom. I am running for office because I want to protect our Freedom from the socialist agenda. I am a Precinct & State Committeewoman for the Arizona GOP & currently serving on Arizona Republican Assemblies Legislative scorecard committee having significant influence in the Arizona Legislative amendments. I am a member of several Republican clubs and organizations, most recently a catalyst for Lifewise Academy, which is off campus biblical instruction during school hours in various school districts. Additionally, I have been named Chair of Turning Point Action’s Faith Coalition. I want to do my part to drain the swamp and be proactive. I am fighting for our Constitutional rights to secure our borders & secure our elections. WE THE PEOPLE NEED A VOICE! Faith, Family & Freedom!

Statement:

The people of Arizona need a conservative voice that is a fighter! I believe I am that fighter that will take the hard stand for our beliefs and agaist curruption and the lobbyist. I have high standards of integrity and will not have a problem saying NO, voting NO or supporting what is right! I want to make a difference and believe I must go to the source. Our Legislators have let us down during the shut downs of Covid, they have let us down in protecting our children in schools, in education and parental rights. They have let us down in fighting for election integrity and in accountability. They have failed to secure our border! Our Constitutional rights are trampled time and time again. We need a Strong Voice at the Arizona Capitol and I believe I will provide it! I am a trusted leader and believe in conservative fiscal responsibility. I am in touch with the people and I believe it’s time for change! Faith, Family & Freedom! Vote Susan Black For Arizona House of Representatives.

Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Interpreting the 2nd Amendment as protecting an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. S* I am a wife of a military veteran and support our second amendment rights. I am a member of "Women for Gun Rights" and believe we have the right to carry anywhere. I support concealed carry in our schools and officers on school grounds. It is our Constitutional right to protect ourselves. The statistics show when people are able to carry that the criminal actions drop considerably.
2. Adding “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” or “gender expression” to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination law. O* I do not support this as it is entirely a life choice. It is against my religious beliefs and I cannot in right conscience support this behavior and lifestyle. It is different to live and let live. Those that are choosing this lifestyle are no longer taking that stance. They are pushing their ideology on to our children and grandchildren in schools, in the media, on every tv show and it is invasive into my lifestyle. This is offensive to me and many others as we are in the majority and they are in the minority. This is a mechanism to undermine the family and I do not support it.
3. Amending the Arizona State Constitution to grant a fundamental right to every individual to an abortion. O* I believe life begins at conception. Life is precious and a gift from God. Unfortunately our society no longer values life. We have a difficult crossroads in the next few weeks as a compromise may be voted and could pass the legislation. Do we support a compromise in legislation to prevent the worst scenario of full term abortion passing this fall. It is a hard decision for many. All or nothing or a compromise. But when I ask myself, what would Jesus do? The answer is clear. NO COMPROMISE! I support the pre Roe legislation.
4. Securing the border by preventing all illegal crossings. S* I have visited the border at Sasabe Arizona. My husband and I camped there for 4 days and 3 nights. We went to uncover the truth. The truth is not being said or reported and the stats continue to change everyday. We MUST secure our borders! Without borders we are not a country. This is intentional by the left to change the demographics of our nation and to allow the illegals to vote. We must protect the women and children from human, sex trafficing and rape. This is inhumane. There are more than 300,000 missing children and growing everyday. There are more than 85,000 known terrorist in the US and ARIZONA is the gateway to the nation for the fentynol drug crisis. It is shameful that our Arizona legislators continue to allow these open borders. I support nullification of the federal governments overreach and immulate what Texas has done. I support giving the enforcement authority back to the Sheriff's department and ICE agents. There are laws in place, we need to enforce the laws and build and secure the wall.
5. Using taxpayer funds to support any organization that performs, promotes, or provides referrals for abortion. O* I am against all tax funded abortions.
6. Allowing all parents to use tax credits and taxpayer funded empowerment scholarship accounts to enable their children to attend any private school, homeschool, or online academy of their choice. S* The ESA program saves the tax payer money. It is a good program and allows the parents to use the money the way they see fit. I will be the first to support school choice. We as parents need options, the public schools have let us down. The academic standards are low and we must have a choice to educate our students the way we wish. I was disgusted with the public schools over 28 years ago when my own daughter was in kidergarten. 1 letter per week is what they tought. We must raise the academic standards and have higher expectations of our students. They need to be able to make a wage and provide for themselves upon high school graduation. I support the expansion of teaching the trades. Our Universities are teaching woke ideology. I also support the power of the purse if standards are not met.
7. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide. O* Life is precious and I support life on every level.
8. Allowing parents to seek professional counseling for their minor child with same-sex attraction or gender identity issues. S* This strengthens the family and can be a way to help with gender confusion. I do believe that parents must be involved and should not be cut out of this process. The state does not own our children and parents rights are important.
9. Permitting individuals and businesses to not provide services or promote ideas that violate their moral or religious beliefs. S* I support religious freedoms and that includes those who want to refuse service to those who violate their beliefs.
10. Keeping the flat income tax rate in Arizona’s state tax code. S* I support economic prosperity for Arizona citizens. I see another problem, we have so many fees added to many of our services as a work around. This needs to be addressed, it is another way to charge the tax payers additional money which enables more government spending. This form of taxation needs guard rails.
11. Requiring any government entity, including schools, to inform parents about their child’s physical, emotional, or mental health. S* I support families and the rights for parents to be involved in their childrens decisions all the way up to age 18. Minors are unable to purchase cigarettes & buy alcohol. I support parental rights up to a legal age of 18, not 12, 14 or 16. The state doesn't own our children. Parents must have the right to encouare and pursuade their children to make good solid decisions.
12. Enhancing penalties for the sale and possession of fentanyl. S* We need accountablity in our government and that includes stiff accountability for crimes as well.
