Statement:

Why I am running for a seat on the Cave Creek School Board

To give a voice and representation to parents and students from K to graduation, and to listen to what matters to them in the classroom.

I support and will defend the Arizona Parents Bill of Rights and, will uphold the parents’ legal, moral, and ethical right to review all educational material and opt in or opt out of the curriculum as seen fit. I will always support parents’ rights to determine all physical health, and emotional or mental health care for their children.

I support and will work to bring back traditional education to the classroom, where students learn skills that will help them navigate adulthood, such as reading, writing, math, cursive writing, life skills, academically appropriate curriculum, and individual support at all learning levels with the understanding that students should have vocational training at their disposal along with college opportunities, help a student establish a career path and encourage students that want to become an entrepreneur.

There should never be political driven agendas in the classroom, and I will do all I can to ensure this doesn’t happen.

Keep the arts and other extracurricular activities in place to provide students with opportunities beyond the classroom.

Retain the best teachers by providing competitive pay, and benefit packages, and rewarding teachers that go above and beyond.

I believe in personal accountability in the classroom, which includes respect towards teachers and staff, as well as peer-to-peer respect and appropriate discipline measures applied if necessary.

Schools need to work within a budget, just like every household must. It is important to look for ways to cut expenses where possible and manage the existing budget with modifications to remain productive with little to no impact on the students.

Schools should be a safe and secure place for everyone. There should be more visible armed resource officers present in school as a deterrent and frontline defense.

Lastly, I am a strong advocate for the safety and well-being of children, As a survivor of child grooming & trafficking, being groomed at the age of 15 by my high school boyfriends’ father and today an advocate, mentor, educator and speaker on the topic of grooming across the United States, it would be a disservice to students and parents to not give them opportunities to learn what grooming is, how it can happen, prevention tools and what to do if grooming is suspected.
