Political Affiliation:
Chief Deputy (Retired)
Master Of Arts in Organizational Management, Bachelor of Arts in Public Safety Administration, Associate of Arts in Administration of Justice
I have been with my wife and best friend Stacie for 33 years. We have two girls and two grandchildren along with two Airedales and three horses.
Roman Catholic
I am running for Sheriff of Maricopa County because after spending 40 years wearing the uniform of a Maricopa County Deputy Sheriff retiring as Chief Deputy three years ago, current employees have asked me to and I am very unhappy with the current sheriff’s lack of concern for public safety. His liberal ideologies have destroyed the morale of employees by taking away their focus on public safety and placing it on innocuous tasks. I can fix this. As an elected official the sheriff reports directly to the people whose primary responsibility is their safety while honoring his oath to uphold the Constitution to protect their liberties and freedoms. My experience, training, and education give me the abilities to immediately begin making changes for their betterment.

Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Denying federal funding to “sanctuary cities” that do not comply with federal immigration laws S* People in the US illegally should not be protected from Federal laws and any agency that protects them must not receive Federal funding.
2. Allowing all parents to use tax credits, vouchers, or education savings accounts to enable children to attend any public, charter, private, homeschool, or online academy S* Parents should have the option to be able to make the best choice for the education of their children.
3. Expanding background checks to include guns purchased from private individuals O* As a Constitutional Conservative I strongly support the 2nd Amendment. It guarantees our rights to own and possess shall not be infringed.
4. Using taxpayer funds to support any organization that provides, promotes, or provides referrals for abortion O* I believe life begins at conception. Abortion is immoral.
5. Prohibiting abortion except when it is necessary to prevent the death of the mother S* This is a moral dilemma that is best made after considering every facet of the circumstances.
6. Providing tax breaks to certain industries over others O* Generally I support tax breaks if applied evenly and only when in the best interest of the general public.
7. Adding “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” or “gender expression” to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination ordinances O* People in these classes already enjoy the same protections as every citizen under the United States Constitution.
8. Protecting a parent's right to seek professional counseling for their minor child with same-sex attraction or gender identity issues to help them reach their desired outcome S* I oppose parents who encourage their young children to question their sexuality so I think they need professional help.
9. Setting minimum wages above the state minimum wage O* Wages should be set by the employer and market and not the government.
10. Protecting individuals and businesses from being required to use their artistic expression in a manner that violates their conscience S* The Constitution and Bill of Rights protects the exercise of personal liberties and freedoms as long as it does not violate another’s rights.
