Statement:
Arizona needs leadership and those prepared to serve. I am running for the Arizona State House of Representatives out of a love for our great state and the desire for Arizona to achieve its full potential. Others run for power and influence and to make a name for themselves, I am running to get work done and leave this office better than I found it. Because I have lived in Legislative District 1 since 1971, I have a deep respect for our rich history and am dedicated to protecting and strengthening the great state of Arizona. I am called to serve and have a passion to give back to the community in which I was raised and where I stayed to raise my family.

1. Expanding background checks to include guns purchased from private individuals. O* Background checks that include guns purchased from private individuals is an invasion of privacy.
2. Adding “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” or “gender expression” to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination law. O* I don’t support discrimination, but I also don’t support using discrimination to violate the freedom of speech and freedom of religion of others.
3. Prohibiting abortion except when it is necessary to prevent the death of the mother. S* I am a pro-life candidate that does not support abortion.
4. Allowing biological males that identify as transgender to play on female sports’ teams. O* To maintain fairness, and the safety of female athletes, student athletes should only be able to compete against other athletes of the same biological sex.
5. Providing state funding or referrals to abortion entities that perform or refer for abortion. O* I am a pro-life candidate that does not support abortion.
6. Reforming the Arizona tax code to enact a flat income tax rate. O* Taxes are complicated and have nuances that don’t support a system where everyone pays at a same income tax rate.
7. Allowing all parents to use tax credits, vouchers, or education savings accounts to enable their children to attend any public, charter, private, homeschool, or online academy. S* I believe in school choice. Arizona has a nationally recognized system of school choice that has improved student achievement and should be supported.
8. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide. O* Life is sacred from conception to natural death.
9. Protecting a parent's right to seek professional counseling for their minor child with same-sex attraction or gender identity issues to help them reach their desired outcome. S* Parents know what is best for their child and shouldn’t be stripped of the ability to seek counseling they believe is best for their child.
10. Requiring public schools to teach comprehensive sex education. O* Parents know what is best for their child and shouldn’t be forced to have their child undergo mandatory sex education not appropriate for their child.
11. Protecting individuals and businesses from being required to provide services or use their artistic expression in a manner that violates their moral or religious beliefs. S* Individuals and business have rights and freedoms that protect their moral and religious beliefs.
12. Establishing electric retail competition to eliminate the current monopoly system for electric utilities. S* Competition instead of monopolies tends to lower costs and improve services, while empowering the customer to choose their energy provider.
