Statement:
I'm running for Arizona Representative LD 7, to fill the void of our current elected officials who have vacated their responsibility and repeated failure to engage with, and represent all citizens of Legislative District 7; to bring the rural conservative values, goals and aspirations of rural and small town Arizona, of the vastly rural district to the metro-centric Arizona legislature; to ensure the infrastructure, funding and leadership is available to bring prosperity to under-served communities to include the Navajo Nation and six other Native American tribes, capitalizing on the strength and resource of the district; to place a check on onerousness, burdensome and prosperity robbing regulations, taxes and officials; to encourage and support expanded education and vocational training on a regional basis to Northeast Arizona.

Question Response Comments/Notes
1. Expanding background checks to include guns purchased from private individuals. O* It has not been demonstrated that expanded background checks have a direct correlation to reducing crime.
2. Adding “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” or “gender expression” to the protected classes of race, religion, age, sex, and ancestry in nondiscrimination law. O* One is free to choose their orientation, but it does not change biological fact, nor should someone's 'identity' privilege that person to special treatment.
3. Prohibiting abortion except when it is necessary to prevent the death of the mother. S* Life begins at conception. Abortion has been widely abused, to treat the life that was invited in the female body as an inconvenience.
4. Allowing biological males that identify as transgender to play on female sports’ teams. O* One's self-identification does not encumber others to treat that as fact. Identity does not change biological fact. Biological males competing as females presents is unfair.
5. Providing state funding or referrals to abortion entities that perform or refer for abortion. O* No tax payer funds should ever cover a personal choice, especially elective abortions.
6. Reforming the Arizona tax code to enact a flat income tax rate. S* Simplification to a fair flat tax system for all will reduce need for burdensome regulation, IRS, and not penalize financial success.
7. Allowing all parents to use tax credits, vouchers, or education savings accounts to enable their children to attend any public, charter, private, homeschool, or online academy. S* Parents are the ultimate and final authority concerning the direction of their child's education.
8. Legalizing physician-assisted suicide. O* Hippocratic Oath, to which all physicians swear to, or affirm is to "First do no harm."
9. Protecting a parent's right to seek professional counseling for their minor child with same-sex attraction or gender identity issues to help them reach their desired outcome. S* The government has largely usurped and abrogated a parent's God-given right to raise, protect and treat their child as they are chosen to do.
10. Requiring public schools to teach comprehensive sex education. O* Sex education is the role and preview of the parents. Period. Schools should only teach established biology, not sexualize children.
11. Protecting individuals and businesses from being required to provide services or use their artistic expression in a manner that violates their moral or religious beliefs. S* Intellectual, artistic property is just that property of the person, not a resource any one person can demand for their own purposes.
12. Establishing electric retail competition to eliminate the current monopoly system for electric utilities. S* Competition breeds better service and products.
