Judges up for Retention
Judges in Arizona face “retention elections” in which they must receive at least 50 percent of the vote in order to continue to serve on the bench. Arizona Supreme Court and Arizona Court of Appeals judges are up for retention every 6 years, and Superior Court judges are up for retention every 4 years.
Every judge appearing on the November 6 retention election ballot was sent a 6-question survey. Judges without a Survey Response link have declined to respond to CAP’s survey.
